History

We have a long family tradition in the textile industry, a symbol of our region’s heritage.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow

A European family business

1920s

A great family story begins

Pietro Radici sets up a small business trading in textile products in Val Seriana, in the heart of industrial Italy.

1940s

The establishment of the first enterprise

Pietro Radici establishes Tessiture Pietro Radici SpA in Val Gandino (Bergamo), a narrow valley embraced by the Orobie Prealps. The company initially specializes in the production of blankets and bedspreads.

1950s

A decade to grow, diversify and regenerate

Gianni Radici, Pietro's son, begins a process of horizontal diversification, expanding the company's production from blankets to rugs, fabrics, carpeting and car mats. He also introduces techniques for recovering wool waste (anticipating the concept of regeneration), and launches the first activities related to textile machinery.

60s and 70s

The onset of vertical integration

The production of fabrics for clothing and yarns for textile flooring begins. These years see an important strategic turning point: the nylon 6 polymerisation process begins, marking the company's official entry into the chemical sector which serves the Made in Italy textile industry.

80s and 90s

Chemistry, energy and recycling are the new frontiers

These were years in which the family focused on diversifying into the fields of chemistry, advanced polymers, and nylon recycling. The Radici family also initiated the production of renewable hydroelectric energy to power their businesses.

2000s

A legacy of sustainability and innovation

The company begins its journey toward sustainability by assessing its environmental impact and reporting through a dedicated sustainability report. This period sees the development of innovative yarns and high-performance nonwoven fabrics made from both recycled and bio-based materials. Innovation, pragmatism, and responsibility define this phase.

Book on Gianni Radici

A coffee at Cinto's

The man and the business

Gianni Radici's story begins with his people, his home, his valley. It’s the story of a great entrepreneur who was, first and foremost, a great man. The book “A coffee at Cinto’s. Gianni Radici. The man and the business” pays homage to an entrepreneur of exemplary humanity who, from the 1950s, kick-started the industrial history of RadiciGroup.
