The Radici family is also active in the energy business through GEOGREEN, in textile machinery with ITEMA, and in hospitality with SAN MARCO.
Geogreen is an Italian group established in 2000, currently engaged in the production of renewable energy through six hydroelectric power plants and a state-of-the-art photovoltaic park. Thanks to its portfolio of small hydroelectric facilities, Geogreen enables its clients — via its partner Geoenergie SpA — to certify that the energy consumed is of renewable origin. The company operates six hydroelectric plants located in Lombardy and Piedmont, with an average annual output of approximately 60 million kWh and a total installed capacity of around 12 MW. Geogreen also owns a photovoltaic park in Isola Dovarese, in the province of Cremona, covering 40,000 square metres and equipped with over 5,000 solar panels.
Itema Group emerged from the entrepreneurial initiative of Gianni Radici who, beginning in 1967, established a path of continuous growth in the textile machinery sector, through a series of partnerships and strategic acquisitions. Based in Colzate, 60% of the control is in the hands of Gianni Radici's direct heirs, while the remaining 40% belongs to the Arizzi and Torri families. Itema, a world leader in the production of advanced weaving machines with rapier, air-jet and projectile technology, also operates through its subsidiaries: Schoch, for textile accessories; Lamiflex, for composite material components for various sectors; and Itemalab, a research and innovation centre. It also has a stake in Tofflonit, the Italian branch of the biopharmaceutical giant Tofflon.
